Cooperation between NANGUI ABROGOUA University (UNA) and the German University Hochschule Niederrhien of Krefeld will soon enable Ivorian students to design mini-power plants for the supply of drinking water powered by solar energy. The first beneficiaries of this cooperation are the village populations of Legroskro, in the department of Duékoué.
These solar-powered drinking water mini-plants are the result of cooperation between NANGUI ABROGOUA University and the German University Hochschule Niederrhein in Krefeld, the German University Exchange Office (DAAD) and industrial partners. It is to explain this project whose objective is to improve the supply of drinking water in the rural areas of Côte d’Ivoire (from hydraulic pumps powered by solar energy) that a mission of the university partners went, on June 10, 2022, to Legroskro, in the locality of Duékoué. The village populations, beneficiaries of the first mini-power plant prototype, welcomed this IIDES-NSC project before reassuring their benefactors of their full support for its implementation. The Sub-Prefect of Bagohouo, representing the Prefect of the Department of Duékoué, also went in this direction and promised the availability of the administrative authority to support this important project. He did not fail to invite people to take care of this prototype which will soon be installed in order to encourage benefactors to multiply this gesture for the benefit of all the other villages of Côte d’Ivoire.
