WILMINGTON, Delaware, July 27 (Reuters) – Twitter is not opposed to the trial against Elon Musk starting on October 17, accepting a motion filed by the billionaire, a court document filed by the social network on Wednesday shows.

Twitter asks, however, that the businessman undertakes that the trial lasts only five days.

The Tesla boss terminated the $ 44 billion takeover agreement with the social network earlier this month, accusing the group of having breached its contractual obligations by notably providing erroneous or incomplete data on the number of fake accounts. . Twitter has dismissed those accusations.

Twitter demanded that the trial be held as soon as possible, arguing that any delay was hurting the company. According to the social network, Elon Musk has in no way guaranteed that the duration of the trial will not exceed five days, as ordered by a Delaware judge.

The businessman’s lawyers did not respond to a request for comment.
