The A cashier form: and yet it falls…

It was understood that the policy of the offer led by Emmanuel Macron was only a gift to the rich. And yet, despite repeated crises, French companies have created more than a million jobs in two years. It was understood that the unemployment insurance reforms were preparing a “social massacre”. And yet the number of jobseekers fell again at the end of November, keeping the unemployment rate at its lowest level in fourteen years.

It is understood that the current draft decree, which aims to adjust the duration of the compensation according to the economic situation, will “push people even further into poverty”. And yet this new hardening, under 6% unemployment, leaves the French with some of the most generous rights in Europe and, above all, opens up a prospect of full employment that the country has not known for forty years.

Each time, however, the unions have cried wolf, locked in a logic of defense of achievement, a hypocritical screen for the human waste of exclusion and precarity. It’s time to change software. To concentrate efforts on supporting the most vulnerable, on improving skills, on retaining seniors in employment. Because providing work to as many people as possible is a moral imperative, but also a virtuous lever to clean up our finances, consolidate our social model and increase our prosperity.

As labor shortages emerge, workers and employees increasingly denounce a system they see as fostering irresponsibility, handouts and even fraud. It is a factor of social polarization, a driving force for RN. Failing to be sensitive to economic arguments, trade unions and the anti-liberal left should be sensitive to this perception of the popular bloc. And still…
