(Reuters) – The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of Philip Jefferson, a professor and administrator at Davidson College in North Carolina, to the Board of Governors of the U.S. central bank.
The nomination of Philip Jefferson was approved by 91 votes against 7. He thus becomes the fourth black man to sit on the Board of Governors of the Fed, and the first in more than 15 years.
