Samsung launches Wallet, the ultimate application to pay without contact and store your cryptocurrencies

Samsung has just announced the great return of Samsung Wallet, its in-house digital wallet. In this new formula, the South Korean firm wants to centralize all its payment, password management and secure storage services.

Digital wallets have become particularly popular with users, so much so that many manufacturers now offer one in their respective ecosystem. This is of course the case from Apple with Apple Wallet, or even Google Pay on the side of the Mountain View firm. Moreover, it is possible that Google Wallet will make a comeback on Android 13 if we believe the latest rumors.

On the Samsung side, the South Korean brand had put Samsung Wallet in the closet several years ago in favor of Samsung Pay. It is not the case anymore. In effect, Samsung has just announced this Friday, June 17, 2022 the great return of Samsung Walletin a completely new formula.

Samsung Wallet, the ultimate app to pay and store your data

The idea is simple: the manufacturer wants centralize all of its payment services in a single application, password management and secure storage. In other words, you can therefore find Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass. In fact, Samsung Wallet will house all your payment cards, your loyalty cards, your various passwords, your digital keys, your boarding passes (only for Korean Air for now) or even your official papers in digital format. In addition, Samsung Wallet also integrates Samsung Blockchain Wallet. Users will therefore be able to quickly monitor their portfolio of digital assets and view the value of different courses. Currently, this feature supports holding and trading Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC20 tokens (ETH-based tokens), Tron, TRC10 and TRC20 tokens.

Via Samsung passusers will be able to easily access all their passwords, to quickly connect to all of their apps and services. Wallet also offers a full SmartThings integrationthanks to which you can add and store digital keys to lock and unlock your connected doors.

Enhanced protection via Samsung Knox

Note that all data stored on Samsung Wallet is protected by Samsung Knox security platform. “Protections include fingerprint recognition and encryption that help safeguard sensitive user data,” ensures the manufacturer. Furthermore, digital assets are stored in an isolated environment, namely Samsung Knox Vault. This other platform offers enhanced protection against remote and physical hacking.

As of this writing, Samsung Wallet is available in France, in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. It will be enough to open Samsung Pay or Pass and follow the instructions to integrate Wallet. Or, you can download the app directly from the Galaxy Store.
