Elon Musk’s transgender daughter has filed for a name and surname change. Besides her desire to stick with her new gender identity, she no longer wishes to be linked to her “biological father in any way”.
Elon Musk had six children with novelist Justine Wilson, the first of whom died ten weeks after birth. In this sibling, we find Xavier Alexander Musk, 18 years old. Transgender, she filed in April for a change of name and gender with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles.
A way to conform to his new gender identity. But also to cut ties with his parent. “I no longer live or wish to be linked to my biological father in any way”. The young woman now wants to be called “Vivian Jenna Wilson” and asks for a new birth certificate bearing his new name.
If her desire to use a female surname makes sense in light of her new gender identity, we do not know why she wants to come off the name Musk.

Musk’s controversial statements on trans identity
In 2020, the billionaire had criticized the attribution of pronouns by transgender people. “I totally support trans, but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare”, he said in a tweet. More recently, he said, still on Twitter: “We are assured on the one hand that gender differences do not exist and on the other hand that the sexes are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option. Maybe someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy.”
Statements that may have scalded his transgender daughter. Especially since Musk has lately given his support to the Republican Party, whose elected representatives support a series of laws limiting the rights of transgender people. For the moment, no representative of Elon Musk has reacted to the case of changing the name of his daughter, widely reported in the press. As a reminder, Elon Musk and Grimes recently announced the birth of their daughter with an original first name: Exa Dark Siderael.
