Official launch of the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation

Six months after its creation by ministerial decree, the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (CONASTI) has just launched its first works, on December 30, 2022, under the great patronage of the holder of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), Professor Nesmy MANIGAT.

Pétion Ville, 31 December 2022.- This institution, made up of 36 members from universities and research environments, the public service and high-level scientists, is a strategic body for consultation, reflection and proposals in the field of science policy, working under the supervision of MENFP.

31 members of the Commission, of which there are 36, attended the session to launch the work and confirmed their support and support for this initiative, which, according to them, will be an invaluable contribution to the education and progress of the country.

According to the text of the ministerial decree establishing CONASTI, published on 29 July 2022 and signed by Minister MANIGAT, one of the main attributes of CONASTI is to promote the development and improvement of national science policies. , technology and innovation.

It must also advise MENFP on teaching science and innovation at the various educational levels and promote international, regional and bilateral cooperation between national research laboratories and international and regional research organisations.

For Minister Manigat, the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation reflects a “plot” for science, a promising project, a tool that will be useful for the transformation of the country.

It should be noted that Professor Evens Emmanuel is the president of CONASTI’s first office assisted by Dr. Hervé Bousiquot, Vice President. Marie Josée Berger and Dr. Jacques Abraham are members of the said Bureau and Madame Guerlande Bien-aimée is its secretary.
