Instagram of Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta group will soon integrate NFTs (non-fungible tokens) of Ethereum, Polygon then in a second time Solana and Flow.

Instagram is catching up on Twitter

In March, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg hinted that Instagram was working on introducing NFTs to its platform. in the following “several months”.
Mark Zuckerberg said users would be able to bring the NFTs existing on Instagram and “hopefully they will be able to hit objects in this environment.
The Financial Times previously reported that Meta would continue its Instagram NFT pilot with coin minting and group membership options on Facebook.
As a reminder, social media giant Twitter Inc. launched in January a feature which allows iOS users of its Twitter Blue subscription service to use their NFTs as profile pictures.

An adaptation on Facebook to come too?

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said in an announcement that similar features coming soon to Facebook, and possibly other Meta applications in the future. Zuckerberg also said that Meta will be working on augmented reality NFTs, or 3D NFTs, which you can bring to Instagram Stories using Spark AR, which is the company’s AR software platform.

Other social networks in sight?

Instagram’s NFT test comes as Twitter enabled NFT profile pictures for premium users earlier this year. Instagram and Twitter aren’t the only digital giants keen to embrace NFTs, as YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki hinted that the platform could adopt web3 technologies, including NFTs, to to help YouTube creators make money.
