The crypto influencer interviewed the former FTX boss at her parents’ home in California this week.
A bikini photo of crypto-influencer Tiffany Fong, who covered the collapse of giant FTX from the start, is juxtaposed with photos of former FTX boss Samuel Bankman-Fried (SBF) and US President Joe Biden. It all started with an article in the New York Post that provoked a meeting between the latter and the SBF, in the California house where he is appointed pending his trial on Tuesday.
It is the second time that the influencer has had an interview with the 30-year-old, who had spoken to her a few days after FTX’s collapse. Although the interview has not yet been made public, Tiffany Fong told the Post that SBF once again spoke about his regrets, his vision for the community and even returned to his time at Fox Hill Prison in the Bahamas.
“Jesus fkn christ”
Tiffany Fong was quick to respond on Twitter to the article titled “Sam Bankman-Fried ‘surprisingly optimistic’ about meeting sexy cryptocurrency influencer Tiffany Fong”.
Asked about this meeting by the Post, Tiffany Fong would have indicated that the SBF was “similar to what it always is” and remained “surprisingly optimistic, even though he was aware of the gravity of his situation”. Quotes that would have been used out of context by the American media believe the influencer described as “sexy”.
The latter also laments her “sexualisation” in the newspaper, where she is shown in a bikini and where she would have spoken “late at night” with SBF. She wonders why the meeting between “The Big Short” author Michael Lewis and SBF, which also took place a few days ago, was much more neutral.
This is not the first time that Tiffany Fong has spoken to SBF. The latter had given him an interview on 16 November, i.e. 5 days after the FTX bankruptcy. It was also the first audio interview in the thirties in which he had mentioned his situation both personally and professionally. SBF had also for the first time admitted its share of responsibility in this affair.
“I wish I had been more careful. I obviously deeply regret that. I focused on volume rather than balance positions,” he said. “I should have been more responsible and I should have paid more attention to what was going on.”
