From his own social network, Donald Trump mocks Elon Musk

Through social networks, the former president of the United States and the billionaire continue to tackle each other severely. The vehemence has redoubled since the cancellation of the takeover of Twitter.

The cancellation of the takeover of Twitter is one more opportunity for Donald Trump to attack Elon Musk. In recent months, the former president of the United States has regularly made fun of the many projects undertaken by the boss of Tesla and SpaceX.

In a series of three publications on his own social network, Truth Social (relayed by several Internet users on Twitter), Donald Trump recalled that the businessman had come to ask him for help at the White House. According to the former president, Elon Musk would have “kneeled down” and “begged” him at that time, if he had asked him, he wrote on the evening of July 12.

Attacks that have lasted for months

Donald Trump also denigrated the “subsidized projects” of the richest man in the world. He mentions in particular “electric cars that do not go far enough, autonomous vehicles that have accidents, or rockets to nowhere”, before advising Elon Musk to “get out of the Twitter mess”.

For his part, the leader of Tesla and SpaceX was content to respond on Twitter with a simple “Lmao” (abbreviation for laughing out loud, in French).

These attacks by social networks are far from being the first, recalls The Guardian. But the withdrawal of the offer to buy Twitter by Elon Musk on July 8 has reignited tensions between the two men. As early as July 9, Donald Trump took advantage of a meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, to ridicule him in front of his supporters.

“Elon is not going to buy Twitter. Who told you first? Me!” boasted the former president of the United States.

Donald Trump went so far as to consider that Elon Musk was “another bullshit artist”, also assuring that Elon Musk had told him that he had voted for him (which the businessman immediately denied).

“It’s time to hang up”

Published on Twitter by the media Breitbart Newsthese remarks generated a new reaction from the richest man in the world.

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up and take off,” Elon Musk wrote.

There is no doubt that the upcoming trial concerning the takeover of Twitter will give rise to new battles between the two characters.
