Entrepreneurs from Ghent want to make the Cirque d’hiver a place of technology

The city of Ghent (East Flanders) owns the Cirque d’Hiver, but it is looking for an operator of the premises, which have recently been renovated. Currently, there is only one candidate left. This is a group of fifteen entrepreneurs from Ghent who would like to make the Cirque d’hiver an important place of technology. The University of Ghent, that of Leuven (KU Leuven) and the employers’ organization Voka will also take part in the project.

These different actors want to transform the Cirque d’hiver into a meeting place, including shops, an auditorium, space for events, workplaces, cafes and restaurants and a concert hall that can accommodate 500 people.

Workstations should also be reserved for innovative technology companies, start-ups or students, in particular.
